Luminaria Display – One Night Only

For a few magical evening hours on every Sunday before Christmas (this year December 21st), scheduled to coordinate with the Town Hall Theater’s annual showing of It’s A Wonderful Life, community volunteers light several hundred paper luminarias down both sides of Main Street making a truly magical walk for folks to enjoy.

Each lantern has been individually decorated by community members, everyone from school children to senior citizens. Every year we add some new ones, but many have been used for several seasons and are lovingly regathered, stored and repaired after the show to emerge the following December.

Many thanks to Alene Candles of Milford who has donated the candles we use and to Wilton Main Street Association for their assistance with this project. If you would like to help with this family-friendly volunteer project on Sunday afternoon or evening, please email me for details of how to participate.  I do hope if you’ve never seen the luminaria, come downtown after dark this December 21st and feel the magic. Better yet watch the classic film at 4:30 and emerge from the theater to take in the spectacle.
