Some sewing experience is helpful though not required. \nWhat Are Fidget Blankets? \nFidget blankets are therapeutic quilts to which different items have been attached or sewn on. These items offer sensory stimulation that has a calming effect on Alzheimer’s and dementia patients. The blankets alleviate boredom in the elderly and provide a means of performing repetitive behaviors that are often comforting and distracting. \nItems should provide different types of textures and different functions such as the ability to fold\, wrap\, rub or click items together. Colorful items and items that release scents are also useful on blankets. These items offer sensory stimulation that has a calming effect on Alzheimer’s and dementia patients. The blankets alleviate boredom in the elderly and provide a means of performing repetitive behaviors that are often comforting and distracting. \nItems should provide different types of textures and different functions such as the ability to fold\, wrap\, rub or click items together. Colorful items and items that release scents are also useful on blankets. DESCRIPTION:The Wilton Community Center is pleased to present pianist Dan Kennedy. Kennedy will perform pieces from his newly released CD\, An Enchanted Nöel\, which will include a potpourri of classic carols\, pop favorites\, and original compositions.\n\nKennedy has performed in 21 U.S. States and Québec provinces. Since his 2007 debut EP LANTERN was released\, Kennedy has received play on 250 radio stations\, and over 500\,000 internet spins. Winner of a 2022 Global Music Award\, plus the 2019 Enlightened Piano Radio Album of the Year\, his recordings have spent as many as 7 consecutive months on the ZMR Top 100. With a style sometimes described as Classical Crossover\, Dan approaches his compositions with a conservatory-trained formal sensibility\, and along the way overlays sparkling melodies and flashes of unexpected improvisation.\n\nCookies and hot cocoa to follow!
